Café Ventana brings to Saint Louis the look and feel of a French Quarter bistro while offering deliciously comfortable foods. From French style beignets to incredible locally roasted coffee to delectable sandwiches, salads and soups, dining at Café Ventana is truly a culinary experience.
Our irresistible beignets are made fresh to order using our hand-crafted recipe, bringing everyone’s favorite New Orleans treat directly to the heart of St. Louis… and we’re always happy to offer a sample!
We’re proud to serve the freshest cup of coffee in the city. Small batches are professionally roasted twice a week by our favorite java guru, Eric Schaefer, using his artisan’s choice Probat roaster (see him in action to the right). With a lineup of talented baristas and the best coffee in town, you are sure to see, feel, and most importantly taste the quality.
Our menu selections are the work of St. Louis’ very own renowned and award winning Chef Christopher Lee, and are crafted using the freshest and most locally produced ingredients available… we love and support and aspire to emulate Andy Ayers’ locovore lifestyle. Our selection of appetizer plates, salads, soups, sandwiches and incredible desserts are gourmet fare, hand-crafted with a comfort food feel.

Following Bert Hutt’s Retronomic Development concept of using multi-repurposing and green building, we created a relaxing environment that features gas lanterns and antique chandeliers from New Orleans, reclaimed antique doors from the French Quarter, a beautiful Italian fountain in our cobblestone alley (laid with reclaimed brick from the St. Louis Riverfront), a stone hearth fireplace inside, super-comfy indoor and outdoor furniture, and an interesting blend of modern and antique accouterments.
